summer date night at the ballgame
happy two years anniversary!
Can you believe it? It’s been two stinking years since I’ve dated David! After swiping right on Tinder back in November 2014, he moved to Texas in July 2016 to be closer to his sweetie, me, and now, we are celebrating two years in the making! 🙂 Instead of doing the typical anniversary celebration at a nice steakhouse, I requested a date night at Minute Maid park to see the Astros play against the Red Sox. Hardest decision is what jersey to wear…
Yes, I’ve decided to wear my Sox jersey. I know, Houston is my hometown team, but I never watched the Astros play growing up. Frankly, they weren’t very good up until these past few years. Plus, I fell in love with baseball watching the Red Sox play and win in Boston, so I had to represent the Sox in Minute Maid Park!
Outfit choice is key when attending to a sporting event especially when you’re a girl or guy.. (David is killing it with his red shoes!) You want a cute look, but don’t want go over the stop because you are going to a sporting event, not a runway show. So please girls, hang up those high heels just for tonight and dress for the occasion! Like seriously, how do y’all do it – trotting and strutting up and down the steep stairs and narrow spaces between seats with heels on? Give this a try because I have found the PERFECT kicks to wear for any baseball game! I absolutely adore them for their comfort and style! But if you do insist on wearing heels, try to avoid stilettos or anything over 2.5 inches tall!
HELLLLLLO.. Keds ‘Champion – MLB Pennant’ sneakers! Aren’t they adorbs? You’ll match the baseball (like myself in the last image). You can purchase them without a specific MLB team on there, but I went with the Sox for apparent reasons! I paired them with my Ortiz jersey and denim shorts. There you have it, a simple, cute, and trendy outfit for the baseball game with only good attention coming your way. (click on the image for link or here)
What’s your favorite ballpark snack?
Okay, yes, you need to look cute and such, but now, let’s talk about what matters most when going to any sporting events – THE FOOD! This is a much more serious topic now, so pay close attention! If you’re ever at Minute Maid Park, there’s an array of places to eat from. Here’s a short list to name a few – Torchy’s Tacos, Shake Shack, and Blue Bell.. Okay, I saw those but didn’t go with either of them because they’re all obtainable outside of Minute Maid Park. So the only intelligent choice left was to select the LOADED BAKED POTATO!
Omg, it’s so delicious! (Sorry for not having an image, but I was super hungry and forgot to even snap a pic of the food!) They loaded the hot potato with juicy cuts of brisket and doused it with a sweet, savory BBQ sauce. And the best part is yet to come.. after spending an arm and a leg there, you’d go to the back where a condiment stand is awaiting for your arrival! And oh boy, that’s where you’ll continue to load the bad boy up some more! Thinking about this is making my tummy growl… I continued to load it up with some more bacon, cheddar, sour cream, jalapeno, and pickles on the side. Oh and the condiments list goes on!
You won’t regret it, and if you do, come back and tell me about it, lol!
Trust me, can you trust me on this? PLEASE do myself and yourself a favor and get the amazing loaded baked potato when you’re a Minute Maid Park! Contrary, if you’re ever at Fenway Park in Boston, MA, you need to get the Italian sausage and yes, load it up with onions and peppers, baby!
