striped blue off the shoulder blouse with white jeans
The classic look for this spring and summer! The off the shoulder trend is not going away anytime soon!
This past weekend was absolutely beautiful, sunny with a cool breeze! Surprisingly, there was barely any humidity, allowing my hair a chance of survival. Oh, and if you notice, yes, I am a lot tanner than before and big thanks to Punta Cana (hopefully, I’ll post about it soon…). Even though, I wish my tan wasn’t so botchy as seen in the picture below. YUCK! But whatevs, I like my outfit too much to change and try to cover up my botched tan lines, lol.
In an older post (link here), I had an off the shoulder poplin shirt, which was much more stiff and dimensional. Contrarily, the blouse is loose-fitting, and the top part is scrunched, allowing the extra fabric to flow gracefully. I love how it doesn’t make me look pregnant like some other loose-fitting shirts! Sometimes, the blouse can make you look extra boxy and wider than you are! Like any of us want that!
Oooh! My favorite is the sleeves! How adorable are those ties at the end of the sleeves, giving it a feminine touch and a nice detail. Although it’s an off the shoulder blouse, I love wearing a short necklace along with it. I don’t like leaving my neck line bare! The necklace decorates my neck nicely, drawing attention away from how broad my shoulders are. My little trick! 😉
Since the blouse is loose-fitting, I paired it with white skinny jeans! My personal dress code is, if you’re wearing a loose top, try to wear a tight-fitting bottom. You don’t want to look baggy from head to toes. It’ll make you look kinda sloppy or you’ve just recently lost a ton of weight and your clothes don’t fit anymore. Wouldn’t that be nice, lol? A perfect excuse to go on a shopping spree!
Adding a more spring and summery touch, I picked a pair of sandal heels. The brown wood-like sole and heel gives it a beachy look. You definitely do not see people wearing these in the winter, so by default, they’re shoes for sunnier days. Only thing is, these shoes are super high! I felt like a giant walking next to him. I looked like a daddy-longlegs spider walking awkwardly down the paved alley. I’m terrible in heels! I mean look at those heels! They’re like a good 5 inch! But hey, they made me look a lot taller and slender. The price us women pay for beauty.
Lastly, I decided to carry my Arsty bag because of its shape. The slouchy look makes this look a little more casual and good for any occasion!
What’s your favorite part of spring? xoxo
