giving thanks in Boston with grubs and bee-ah
When I travel back to Boston (after having lived there for 6 years), I naturally gravitate to some of my favorite spots that I want y’all to try if y’all are fortunate enough to visit this beautifully diverse city.
Regardless of how ridiculous the wait would be, I make time for this. My recommendation is to place your name and phone number in the waiting list before looking for a parking spot and a few hours before you are actually hungry because the wait is legit no joke. From my experiences, my seating times range from being seated on the spot once or twice (I believe during some snow storms lol) to my typical wait of 1-2.5 hours. I know, sounds ludicrous, but I promise you, it is worth the wait! I ordered the PEI mussels, Maine lobster roll (hot with butter) and North End cioppino. Sorry, there is not an image of the mussels. My famishness got the best of me that I completely forgot to document the deliciousness.
The best fries in town, hands down. I ordered the big poutine size with bacon n’ stout braised beef as an add-on to enhance flavorful synergies. The fries are freshly fried and hand-cut creating an incredible crisp on the outside a savoring, starchy taste in each bite. The gravy is creamy, rich and wholesome with cheese curds complementing it with a thick buttery taste. Amazing is what it was. Nonetheless, Saus uses quality ingredients to craft its signature item.
Boston Public Market is an indoor marketplace, showcasing local businesses. There are amazing vendors in here, but I have had only the opportunity to encounter two of them.
The apple cider donuts are little delights with an explosive flavor in your mouth. Along with it is the hot apple cider, warming up the body up with a sweet autumn feel you get from each sip.
This amazing local brewery crafts some of the finest IPAs I have ever tasted. The shop is amazing with a myriad of craft beers from states all over New England! If you are a beer enthusiast as I am, you need to stop by here and take a look, pick up a few cans or cases to enjoy. I do want to acknowledge the outstanding employee whom personally helped me picked out this beauty for my own to try (image below). When she describes and talks to you about the different beers, you can tell that she is passionate and knowledgeable about the products. Her enthusiasm is contagious and her honesty is appreciated. I will definitely be stopping by here my next visit to Boston!
