fried pickles & mac n’ cheese, please!
Forget the menu, Jenny and I know exactly what we want. LT’s Sports Bar and Grill is not a typical restaurant/bar where consumers expect mediocrity when it comes to food. I go here JUST for the food! LT’s is a community bar where many familiar patrons visit often and become “regulars” there. Frankly, it is not a place where you would meet men/women in their early or late 20s. It is an older crowd but definitely a friendly and fun one. Okay, on to the reason why Jenny and I made it “our spot”.
First a little history on how we even became friends! You would not even believe it. Yes, we met through a dating app. Thankfully, Bumble made a BFF mode, and we swiped right for each other. From our first date at Painting with a Twist to our second date at LT’s, we never changed location from there on. We became loyal customers due to the addictive fried pickles and mac n’ cheese. By the way, Bumble BFF is a great avenue to meet new people as adults because as people age, it gets harder to meet new peers.
The fried pickles are perfectly battered and has been recently revised to thicker pickle slices, so you can taste more of the pickily taste! The batter is light enough to hold its crisp and the oil in the fryer is definitely fresh because there is not an old oil taste. I am not sure what ranch sauce they use, but Jenny is definitely obsessed with it and drowns each individual pickle chip in it! She knows better to ask for two sauces when ordering. I have to admit though. The ranch sauce is not too thick and not too creamy or salty either. It is just simply delicious.
My favorite part of tonight is the mac n’ cheese side! It is cooked with amori pasta and immersed in a creamy and rich cheese sauce. Lastly, it is topped and sprinkled throughout the dish with pork grinds, bacon, and chives. The flavor has depth in it, creating many layers of textures and palates from the savory cheese to the salty crispy bacon and pork grinds. The amori pasta is a perfect touch because the tubing allows more cheese sauce in every single bite.
LT’s is not your typical bar food or finger food. It is like home to many. Especially when the owner, Travis, is continuously present and interacting with customers. He greets everyone with a genuine smile and thanks them sincerely for their patronage. LT’s is a must try! From the outside, it may look discouraging but somewhere in that kitchen, the magic is happening.
